Nobody in this field publishes how they check things. This page is that, including the parts that did not work.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- Quote, do not paraphrase. Where a rule matters, the regulator's own words appear next to the claim with a link, so you can judge whether our reading is fair.
- A date means a re-read. The verification dates below move only when someone opens the page again and confirms the quoted string is still there. Rebuilding the site does not move them. A stale date is honest; a fresh date that nothing verified is not.
- Numbers must be traceable. Every numeral in the article body is listed below with the sentence it came from. The build fails if a number appears on a page without an entry here.
- Unverified means unpublished. If we cannot retrieve a primary source, we say so and leave the figure out, rather than repeating what other sites say.
- One jurisdiction at a time. A rule is stated with the regulator it belongs to. We do not imply that a British rule applies elsewhere.

The African registers
These are the four government lists behindthe register guide. The column names are quoted from the live pages, because what each register leaves out is as useful to know as what it prints. None of the four publishes a licence number, and none publishes whether a licence is still in force.

What we could not verify
These were attempted on 2026-09-07 and failed. They are listed because a gap you are told about is worth more than a gap quietly filled from memory.
- The minimum GAMSTOP self-exclusion period. The regulator's page says only "a period of your choosing". The scheme's own help pages returned not-found and forbidden responses to us. A commonly repeated figure exists; we did not quote it, because we could not read it at the source.
- The licence condition number that carries the customer funds requirement. Two candidate conditions were checked and ruled out. The article therefore cites the guidance rather than a condition number.
- The exact letter-case of the three fund-protection labels.Our first pass capitalised them. A re-check found they appear in lower case, inline in a list, so the headings on the guide are presented as ours rather than as a transcription. The sentence-level quotations were re-confirmed word for word and are unaffected.
- Whether player funds are protected in any African market.Nothing published was found on segregation, insurance or what happens to a balance if an operator fails, in any of the four. That is a gap in what the regulators publish, not a finding that no protection exists.
- Whether any of the four licences is still in force. No register carries a status field, so a row proves a licence was granted and not that it survived.
- Anything from the Malta Gaming Authority. Every attempt to fetch mga.org.mt returned a forbidden response. Malta is consequently not described on this site at all yet, rather than described from second-hand summaries.
Corrections
If a quotation no longer matches its source, or a rule has changed, tell us and it gets fixed and re-dated. That is the whole mechanism; there is no editorial board behind it.
